Shin-hee Chin will present a three-day workshop that invites participants to explore and express their unique artistic voice through design development to fabric collage. The participants will start with personal inspiration obtained from reference images such as photographs or magazine clippings. Personal images will be translated into personal design sketches using materials such as colored paper and markers. Uniquely personal designs will emerge from this process, which occurs on the first two days of the workshop. On the third day designs will be brought to life using fabric collage and hand stitching. The resulting smaller pieces can be become prototypes for larger works or stand alone as finished collages.
